City seeks to ‘end relationships’ in fresh PSA video

Miami Beach has released a new public service announcement announcing their official “breakup” with spring break due to the negative impact it has on locals, law enforcement, businesses, and property. The PSA features actors portraying Miami Beach locals expressing their preference for relaxation over rowdy partying. The ad outlines stricter rules for spring breakers, including curfews, bag checks, restricted beach access, DUI checkpoints, and increased police enforcement. Last year, Miami Beach saw chaos and violence during spring break, prompting the city to take more drastic measures this year, such as closing parking garages and deploying additional security every weekend in March. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also issued a warning to spring breakers, emphasizing a “law and order” approach and stating that those who commit crimes will be held accountable. Law enforcement agencies are increasing their presence in South Florida, with additional resources being allocated to cities like Miami Beach, Daytona Beach, and Panama City. Drones, mobile command vehicles, and automated license plate readers will also be used to enhance security measures during the spring break season.
