Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is demanding that ex-President Donald Trump debate her in South Carolina after Trump attacked Haley’s husband, who is deployed on military duty, for being absent from the campaign trail. Haley stated that mocking the service of a combat veteran is unacceptable, and she challenged Trump to say it to her face in a debate. Trump had previously made comments about Haley and her husband during a rally, to which both Haley and her husband responded on social media. She also reposted comments from her supporters condemning Trump’s behavior, including from New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu. Both Trump and Haley campaigned in South Carolina ahead of the Republican primary on Feb. 24.
