Price for Forever stamps to rise on January 21st

The cost of Forever stamps will be increasing from 66 cents to 68 cents on January 21. This price hike is part of a larger plan from the U.S. Postal Service to improve its financial stability. Some have criticized the plan, saying that frequent stamp price increases have come as mail volume has declined and the Postal Service continues to lose money. More than a dozen members of Congress have drafted a letter to the Postal Service governors, urging them to delay further rate increases until the effects of recent increases can be assessed. In addition to Forever stamps, other services will also see price increases, including Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, and USPS Ground Advantage. The new prices for letters, postcards, and international mail will also go into effect on January 21. This is part of a series of rate increases that have been proposed and approved by the Postal Service Board of Governors as part of a 10-year plan to improve the financial stability of the Postal Service.
