Arthur Guty, a man from Pennsylvania, has been arrested in Las Vegas after the body of his current wife, Nicole Zambrano, was discovered in their home on New Year’s Day. Guty was taken into custody at the Mardi Gras Casino and had $100,000 on him at the time, leading authorities to believe he was attempting to flee the country. He is facing charges of criminal homicide and aggravated assault related to Zambrano’s death.
Zambrano had been missing since December 24, and a welfare check at her home led to the discovery of her body on Monday. Authorities believe she had been dead for several days and had suffered a gunshot wound. Guty had provided conflicting stories about her whereabouts, leading investigators to focus on him as a suspect.
This is not the first time Guty has been involved in a deadly plot. In 2019, his ex-wife, Roxanne Guty, attempted to hire someone to kill him in exchange for half of his life insurance policy. She later entered a no-contest plea to a misdemeanor charge and served probation.
Guty is currently awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania to face the charges related to his wife’s death. District Attorney Mike Aubele believes Guty was attempting to avoid responsibility for the crime by fleeing. The investigation into Zambrano’s death was aided by forensic evidence and technology, ultimately leading to the discovery of her body in their home.
The case has shocked the community and raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding both of Guty’s marriages and the attempted murder plot against him. As the legal process moves forward, more details are expected to emerge about the events leading up to Zambrano’s death and Guty’s alleged involvement.
